Nicholas specializes in functional work. He defines this as anything designed to be used. His objects hould be pleasing to the eye, pleasing to the the hand and execute their intended task well. The simple pleasure derived from using a handmade tool be it a chisel, bottle opener or spatula enhances everyday life.
Everything Nicholas creates is made by hand one at a time. He uses time honored traditional methods wherever possible and modern tools and techniques when appropriate. Nicholas is meticulous in his attention to detail. if you order a tool such as a hatchet he will personally forge, grind, heat treat and sharpen the head, hang it on a hand riven handle and create a custom sheath to fit it.
